Great Summer ReadAugust 5, 2008 Summer Reader(Calgary, AB, Canada) This book was really great in my opinion. I liked almost everything about it. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, this book is a sequel, which I did not know and I haven't read the first book. Regardless, Belong to Me was the perfect book for me to read curled up on my patio (in suberbia) enjoying lovely summer nights. I recommend it as a good book with a great story, but not many moments of page turning suspense. Slightly predictable, but still a great read.
Disappointing sequelJuly 21, 2008 Shade 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book is the author's continuation of Cornelia Brown's character. The first book, which is not linked to the author on this site, is called Love Walked In, & was released in 2005. I was extremely disappointed to discover that the performer's voice (audiobook version) changed - so much so that I haven't been able to finish it yet. I was really looking forward to more about Cornelia, but a different voice ruined something major for me. I can't imagine why a character is continued but the character's voice is not.
One of the best books I've readMay 23, 2008 NurseB(Nepean, Ontario Canada) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
This was by far the best book that I have read in a long time. I've never heard of this writer before and bought this book on a whim. I was so glad that I did. This book tells the story of Cornelia Brown who moves to the suburbs with her good looking doctor husband. They moved to a "Desperate Housewives" kind of neighbourhood, complete with a perfect mom/wife. However, as the story goes along we realized there is so much more to her life. The book weaves together three separate lives and we soon discover 3/4 through the book how they are all connected. I cannot even do this book justice. A great read from start to finish. I couldn't put it down and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a "can't-put-it-down" read.
