5 out of 5 stars Why else did you see that...   April 11, 2007

This very funny story reminds me of my kids who always manage to get muddy each and every time they go to play. Like Jule Ann they rarely admit that they actually jumped in the mud. This is my sons favorite Munsch book. We have several that we collect. Our other favorite author is Boszenna Nowiki with her series Why Some Cats are Rascals.

My Class at the daycare love this one. we made up game and a craft to go with mud puddle, all the children love to take part in any munsch book. We have our own story all about a man named bob who is tiny and jumps into people's hair, so you have to shout " get out of my Hair Bob " and shake your head, we catch him and tell him to grow 3 times, he cant say at daycare anymore so he has to get as big as one of the daddies at school and go get a job and a house, he becomes a Barber so he can still be in peoples hair in a good wayand not bug people... this all came from Munsch so thanks.

My preschool classes have all loved MUD PUDDLE. The repetition with in the story is great. We love to have an excuse to shout, "Hey, Mud Puddle." We've even made up actions to go with the bathing and dressing portions of the story. I love this author and this is by far my favorite of his stories.

When Jule Anne walks out her door one day she finds a pesky mud puddle just waiting to jump on her. And if you think that's bad, just wait until you see the other tricks that puddle plays on her. But after being scrubbed clean over and over, Jule Anne comes up with a trick of her own to play on the unsuspecting mud puddle.

Bob Munsch has written yet another light hearted story to which every child can relate and most importantly, laugh about. With his masterful repetion and the fact that he seems to somehow truly know what it's like to be a kid, children will undoubtedly be glued to this story from beginning to end. My kindergarten class cheers each time they see me bring this book out.
