Everyday ItalianSeptember 14, 2007 Cherie(Ontario, Canada) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is the first cookbook I've ever seen with more pictures of the author than the food! I find it very distracting to see pictures of Giada on practically every page. The recipes are simple and easy to follow, but I guess I was expecting more. I have a cook book on Italian cuisine and was looking for different recipes. This book didn't provide that for me. If you are looking for a "beginner" book on Italian cooking, this should fit the bill, that is unless you want pictures to see what you are making!
Beautiful and SimpleJanuary 22, 2007 Angela MacKay(Nova Scotia, Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a lover of cookbooks, I personally have many on my kitchen counter but none are getting the same amount of use as Everday Italian. Giada's recipes are easy to follow and all cooks, from beginners to pros, will end up with beautiful, delicious results. Giada's meals are perfect for family suppers or a more formal affair. Packed with fresh and affordable ingrediants, Giada's recipes chanel Italy in a way that's easy for all of us to enjoy.
Great tasting Italian food.March 7, 2006 Frank Summers(Alberta) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Let me start by saying, I hated to cook. From grocery shopping to reading recipes, I despised it all.
Now I've finally found a cookbook that makes me want to cook! Giada's recipes are easy to follow and for the most part, quick to make. Best of all, most of her ingredients can be found at your local grocery store for a reasonable price.
At first I was irritated by the lack of finished recipe pictures in the cookbook. Once I started cooking, I realized I didn't even need them - the recipes are that simple. I'm not a gourmet chef so I don't want complicated recipes, even if they do taste a bit more robust or authentic. I'm just somebody trying to find the inspiration to enjoy cooking and eating again.
I've enjoyed almost every recipe I've made from this cookbook and I look forward to cooking at the end of a long work day. My favorite recipes have been the marinara sauce (I can't believe I made my own sauce), the bolognese sauce, the chicken piccata, and the chicken parm. Tonight I'm going to make ziti with asparagus, smoked mozzarella, and prosciutto.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks they don't have the time or the finances to make fresh, great tasting Italian food. If the thought of one more night of grocery store, jarred tomato sauce makes you want to scream, this book is for you! I also recommend, cooking-try, Silver Spoon. Non-cooking-try, Giorgio Quest.
Best Italian cookbook EVER!!October 28, 2005 Michelle(Toronto, Ontario) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
My husband and I are fans of Giada's show so we went out to buy her book as soon as it came out. We love it and cook from it all the time. Her easy approach to cooking and fresh ingredients don't scare away novice cooks. Giada has actually influenced both of us to cook and experiment more from just watching her show and reading her book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Italian food, it has recipes that are easy to follow and ingredients that you are sure to have. It's made me confident in the kitchen and I want to thank Giada for giving us all the inspiration to dream that we can all be great cooks!

This cooking book is definitely one of my favorites. The recipes are nice and easy to follow. Every dish I have made turned out fantastic. Some of my favorites are the stuffed mushrooms, the Chicken Piccata, chicken tetrazani.
Another book that I really enjoy as well is Simple and Simply Delicious by Sylvie Rocher. Those 2 books are great gift to give to your friends or family.
