Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A must read for all Christians.   May 5, 2008

A book for anyone who is a Christian. The Apostles of Jesus Christ and the formation of the early Church are brought in to startling clarity in this refreshing and informative collection of teachings.

Pope Benedict is a brilliant researcher and writer on a topic that few if any people have as great a love and knowledge.

The book consists of short sketches of each apostle revealing the people behind the names. Pope Benedict's research is based on biblical facts and insightful deductions that are eyeopening and often surprising.

A must read for anyone that wants a deeper understanding of the Apostles as people and the challenges of the early Church.
