I had previously seen and purchased the Live in Dublin DVD, and was looking to expand my "collection". Some of the comments posted here made me think twice about this selection, especially regarding the video quality. Eventhough the video is not the best, I found the program to be excellent, and in fact watched it 3 times when I first got it! The poor video quality and constant angle changes mentioned by other reviewers was not really a detriment in my opinion, because the program is otherwise very enjoyable. The extended encores are especially enjoyable, where the orchestra diverts from classical music to popular songs from around the globe, and has the crowd literally dancing in the aisles. The track listing on the Amazon.com website is definitely incorrect, so look elsewhere to find out the contents. However, my bottom line is DON'T pass up this DVD because of the minor negative comments, because they're not that big of a deal, and the program is so fun and rewarding to watch, over and over.
Another Musical PartyApril 19, 2004 Sally Chaney(Fairfield, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Andre Rieu & the JSO invite us to the party again. Live at Royal Albert Hall gives us Rieu at his best. Great Music with Great Fun. Dancing in the isles by all ages. This CD combines Waltzes with the Big Band Sound. Listen to an old time marching band as Andre & the JSO play The Stars & Stripes, something he added to his performances as a nod to the 'Lost Heroes', "They Came To Save Us" the Americans.
Andre and the JSO are a must see and must hear. This is once again Heaven's Music on Earth.
sally@andrerieufans.com I recommend this CD for every collection.

I just thought the DVD was excellent, I even tried to get a teenage neighbor to set down and watch it. I will buy all of his dvd's eventually.
Good Music, Poor Quality DVDMarch 27, 2004 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is another one of Andre's live performances. The music is superb as is the music on his other DVD's and CD's. However, the colors are really terrible and the glare very apparent. The DVD should have been reworked so that viewing the performance would not be such a pain. This is really poor photography.
Advice: skip this DVD and get the "Live in Dublin" DVD. That one is really a jewel, in every way!
Buy It For The Music -- Ignore The FlawsJanuary 9, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The most musically interesting of the Rieu concerts -- and the most painful to watch.
The DVD director (or the post-production team -- it's impossible to tell who's-doing-what-when anymore) have endowed it with a frantic, constant-motion, MTV music-video edit, reminding you every two seconds that someone somewhere is pushing buttons! New angle. New angle. New angle. Ad nauseum...
Thank goodness for the music: everything from Hava Nagila to Glenn Miller and the "Andre" Sisters (as noted by another reviewer, the track list given here is totally wrong) and it's all wonderful! Even the repeat stuff like the Strauss & Co. medley and the Shostakovitch Second Waltz.
Interestly, the one visual element that could have been -- and would only be possible in this particular venue -- is missing. The ground floor of Royal Albert Hall does not have permanent seats. Where we would have "Orchestra" tickets, or the British buy "Stalls" seats, there's nothing -- just a flat floor. It's done that way to provide a large but well-located "standing room" section for the famous summer Proms Concerts. Wow! Instead of the portable seats that were brought in for this occasion, wouldn't it have been fantastic to see the WHOLE ground floor dancing round and round to this wonderful music. Oh, well...
