Mein Sohn (1 1/2)liebt Elmer!
Ich habe bei einer der Rezensionen gelesen, dass ein Kind fürchterlich zu weinen angefangen hat, als es auf die Seite kam, wo der Löwe sein Maul aufreißt und ich muss zugeben, dass mich diese Befürchtung begleitete, als ich meinem Sohn das erste Mal aus diesem robusten Pappbandbüchlein vorlas. Doch er war von dem Löwen genauso begeistert, wie von all den anderen Tieren. Sie sind so hübsch bunt und sein Fingerchen tippte mit einem fröhlichen "Da-dada" jede Seite an.
Es ist ein Büchlein, bei dem Kinder mit zunehmenden Fertigkeiten, z.B. Beobachten, Sprechen, Zählen, etc. immer wieder Neues entdecken können. Achten Sie z.B. mal auf die Raben - es sind immer unterschiedlich viele ;o)

This was the book I bought the first time I took my daughter to the zoo. This is where she really learned to wave "bye bye" and "hello" and practice her animal sounds. She enjoyed roaring like a lion and hooting like the owl. But I enjoyed the message the most: "Elmer's friends are all different, but they all love Elmer." A subtle message, but an important one to learn.

Elmer's Friends was the first book my daughter (1.5 years) took an interactive interest in. She loves the lion. She roars whenever she sees it and it is the first animal sound she has made.

We picked up a copy of Elmer's Friends from the library as part of a stack of books to read to our two year old. She fell in love with it. So much so that we bought a copy. She loves the different animals, and is learning their names. She particularly likes the the lion. Whenever she sees it, she ROARS out loud, and makes us roar too. This is the best kind of children's book. One they ask to have read to them over and over.

My son is a huge fan of "Hide and Seek Elmer". I bought "Elmer's Friends" thinking he would love this as well. There is a lion in this book that has the most frightening face. My son would start to cry the page before in anticipation of the upcoming lion. I tore that page out of the book and now my child can enjoy this book again. The other animals are fun, but the lion is terrifying!
